Rebecca Blair represents people who have been injured or have lost loved ones due to the negligence of others. Her practice includes cases arising from medical malpractice, automobile accidents, sexual assault, and other acts causing personal injury. With an emphasis on representing injured children and their parents, Rebecca is experienced in working with families whose lives have been shattered by the loss or catastrophic injury of one of their own.

Specializing in the area of medical malpractice, Rebecca represents patients who have been injured or have lost their lives as a result of a healthcare provider's failure to prevent, diagnose and/or properly treat numerous medical conditions and illnesses, such as deep vein thrombosis leading to pulmonary embolism and death, Wernicke's encephalopathy, and MRSA sepsis. She has also represented patients who have been the victims of improperly performed medical procedures including liposuction and oral surgery.

The representation of injured children and their parents—particularly those who have been the victims of medical malpractice during labor and delivery—is a focus of Rebecca's practice. She has successfully resolved a variety of cases on behalf of parents and minor children against physicians and healthcare facilities. Rebecca's former clients include the parents of a child who, as a result of an unrecognized placental abruption at 37 5/7 weeks gestation, experienced a loss of blood supply causing permanent brain damage and severe cerebral palsy. The suit filed on behalf of these clients against the three obstetricians, two of the obstetricians' corporations, the hospital, a resident physician, and the medical facility where the resident received training led to mediation and settlement for an undisclosed amount.

Another former client, a young, first-time mother, lost her baby when, despite hours of non-reassuring fetal heart tracings, increasing signs of neurological injury to the fetus, and no progress in labor, it took the physician approximately fifteen hours to call for a cesarean section. During the procedure, the mother was found to have a uterine rupture and the infant suffered brain injury due to asphyxia. Life support was withdrawn five days after birth. At the defendant doctor's request, the case was mediated and settled for an undisclosed amount.

Rebecca has also served clients who have been victims of sexual assault and molestation, including children who have been victims of sexual abuse. She has successfully resolved actions against employers responsible for placing offenders in positions of trust including school systems, camping programs, and religious organizations.

Rebecca is committed to bringing justice to her clients, and continuously works to support the causes in which she believes. She is an active member of the Tennessee Association for Justice, serving on the Executive Committee and Board of Governors. She is also a member of the American Association for Justice.

Rebecca regularly lectures on legal issues across the State. She has lectured on behalf of the Tennessee Bar Association, the Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association, Lorman Education Services, and the Rutherford County Bar Association. Along with John Day, Brandon Bass and other attorneys from Day & Blair, Rebecca founded the Fundamentals of Civil Litigation program in 2002. During the past five years, the program has been a tremendous success, providing hundreds of lawyers from across the state a foundation of litigation skills.

A native of Williamson County, Tennessee, Rebecca graduated with honors from the University of Tennessee and the University of Tennessee College of Law.
